New Triumph Tiger Sport revealed

Triumph Tiger Sport gets latest 1050 engine, new electronics and taller adjustable screen for 2016

TRIUMPH has just revealed this new Tiger Sport, the updated 2016 model we told you was on the way.

It’s got the latest version of Triumph’s 1050cc three-in-line engine, as used in the 2016 Speed Triple, with a claimed improvement in torque and fuel economy.

Like the Speed Triple, it benefits from a new ride-by-wire throttle, riding modes, multi-level traction control, ABS and a slip-assist clutch.

It also comes with cruise control.

The exhaust has been revised and it’s got a range of detail changes including ‘grippier’ foot-pegs, an adjustable tinted screen and new mirrors.

It comes in new matt black or silver colour schemes.

In typical Triumph fashion, full specifications including peak power and torque have yet to be confirmed.

Visordown told you the new model was coming after a Triumph representative let slip during last month’s Speed Triple launch that the launch of the Tiger Sport was also in planning.

The official debut follows spy shots in January.
