New Kawasaki Z1000SX spied

Mild revisions for 2014 bike, spotted on photo shoot

KAWASAKI hasn’t had much luck when it comes to keeping a secret of its new model photo shoots. Last year’s ZX-6R surfaced well before time when it was spotted filming a promo on the Isle of Man, and now the new Z1000SX has cropped up in Norway.

The original story of how the bike surfaced, should you be fluent in Norwegian, can be found here: http://www.tv2.no/underholdning/broom/mc/kawasaki-therese-og-kristian-knipset-hemmelig-mc-4096901.html

In short, a couple stumbled on Kawasaki’s guys filming the bike on the Atlantic Highway, where many car companies shoot promos, and whipped out their camera to grab some shots. In case you don’t know it, the road runs alongside the coast with incredible curved bridges as it hops between rocky outcrops over the ocean. Google it, but beware; you might find yourself trying to arrange a trip out to ride it…

The changes to the bike include new panniers, which suit the styling better than the lumpy old ones, and mild cosmetic tweaks like a body-coloured nose and tank instead of the current black. The front brake calipers are also new, suggesting the bike has moved on to a more advanced ABS system – possibly the Bosch ABS 9 that already features on the ZX-10R.
