Bimota and BMW have previous history ... here's the old BB1 from 1995

BIMOTA are today revealing a new motorcycle using a BMW powerplant.

Not much is clear about the new model but is is rumoured to be a sportsbike and it will be using BMW's S1000RR engine which Bimota say: 'is currently the best 4-cylinder in-line engine in the supersports motorcycle segment'.

Bimota started off in the '70s using inline four-cylinder engines and have worked with BMW before. In 1995, Bimota produced the BB1 Supermono, a 48bhp bike using the engine from the F650, it weighed just 167kg and has a top speed of 121mph.

The new BMW Bimota will be able to beat that in 2nd gear...
