New bike: Moto Guzzi 1200 Sport Corsa

A paint job can work wonders

There's no difference between the new Moto Guzzi 1200 Sport Corsa and the basic 1200 Sport. No more power, no better handling and most importantly no increase in price.

But it's immensely more desirable simply because of that paint scheme and at £9378 it seems decent value, too. The full Moto Guzzi blurb is below:

The Moto Guzzi 1200 Sport is now available in a special edition red, white and gold ‘Corsa’ paint scheme at no extra cost.

The Corsa features a two-tone red & white paint job, complemented by gold detailing and a two-tone saddle.

The 1200 Sport is powered by the same smooth 1151cc V90 8v engine found in the new Stelvio NTX & Norge GT, delivering 102bhp @ 7,000rpm and 77ft.lb of torque.

The supple handling is delivered through Marzocchi forks adjustable for pre-load, compression and rebound damping along with a similarly multi adjustable rear shock. Lightweight Marchesini 3-spoke wheels complement the handling and quality feel.

Braking is taken care of by Brembo with twin 320mm discs with 4-piston radial calipers at the front and a single 298mm disc at the rear.

Shaft drive, a bikini fairing, a well-padded seat and lots of space for a pillion (under the removable seat cover) add practicality, making the 1200 Sport an exceptional sports tourer.

The 1200 Sport Corsa costs £9,378 OTR.

C'mon Pagik, just imagine....a Provencal village nearing dusk, the golden evening light mirrored by sunflowers pointing west. A crisp bark from the Akrapovic cans on the blip down announces your approach. Through the last sweeper of the plane-tree-lined road, then roll off and revel in the back-burble as you cruise into the main street. Swing into one of the gravelly bays by the side of the road and stop. Stand down, the smell of jasmine in the darkening air and walk to the cafe table. Look back.

Now tell me you would not be happy to seee that agricutlural implement pinging its heat away while you order a cold 33.
