Mystery new BMW boxer to be shown next Tuesday

Could it be the R1200S we told you about in June?

BMW will unveil a new boxer-engined bike at the Eicma motorcycle show in Milan next Tuesday, the firm has just confirmed

It said bikes to debut at the show would include a new 'model from the R series' - the designation given to all its boxer-engined machines - as well as a new member of the R nineT family, which is probably the Scrambler we already know about.

We think the mystery boxer will probably be the new R1200S that reliable German magazine Motorrad predicted back in June, with the rendering you see here.

BMW said: 'A new BMW Motorrad model from the R series will be presented to the public... a second, no less emotional model will be placed alongside the successful R nineT cult bike.'

The press release also referred to the G310 R that was confirmed yesterday and hinted at updates in the F-series range.

It said: 'BMW Motorrad will also be showing the series version of the new BMW G 310 R for the first time. This motorcycle transfers the properties of a true BMW roadster to a new market segment for BMW Motorrad...

'In addition to that, there will be new things to see and discover with regard to the BMW F series.'
