MV Agusta has just released information about its new RR 1090 – the most powerful naked model in the range.
Replacing the 1090RR, the confusingly-named RR 1090 joins the base 920 and mid-line R 1090 to create a three-model range. Power is up from the old (suffix) RR's 144bhp to 158bhp thanks to some internal engine modifications – camshafts, throttle bodies and intake tracts – while weight drops from 190kg to 183kg.
In line with MV's other recent releases, the F3 and Brutale 675, it also gets 8-position traction control.
A slipper clutch and a combination of 50mm Marzocchi forks and Sachs rear shock with seperate high and low speed compression damping adjustment, plus a hand-welded frame with adjustable steering geometry help justify MV's claim that the RR 1090 is 'a superbike without fairings.'
