More touring-orientated KTM 1190 Adventure spotted

1190 Adventure seen testing in Austria

AN updated version of KTM’s 1190 Adventure has been spotted near the KTM factory in Austria.

The 150hp V-twin has been seen testing with a larger fuel tank and revised side panels, front fairing, engine crash bars and a larger screen.

Nothing official has been released from the Austrian firm but speaking of the spy shots a KTM spokesperson said: ‘KTM are always testing and undergoing development with their bikes.’

The larger tank and fairings would increase the bike’s range, reduce windblast, and could pull the Adventure more in line with BMW’s GS for long distance touring, as opposed to the Ducati Multistrada which it currently competes against.

It’s unclear yet whether these modifications are bike development or the basis of a new ‘Touring’ model, like KTM has done with the 990 SMT.
