More power and slipper clutch for Suzuki GSX-S1000 and GSX-S1000F

SUZUKI has just just announced surprise upgrades to its GSX-S1000 and GSX-S1000F for 2017, with both models getting a slipper clutch and power boost.

They now make 150hp, up from 143.5hp. Torque has increased from 78.2lbft to 79.6lbft.

Both models, which are essentially the same aside from the GSX-S1000F's fairing, get a slipper clutch to prevent rear wheel lock on down-shifts.

Both bikes also get new black levers and foot controls, while the F gets a tinted screen.

The 2017 GSX-S1000 will cost £9,699 plus on-the-road charges when it arrives in showrooms next month, while the F will be £10,299.

A special-edition GSX-S1000 with matt black paint and black silencer and forks will cost £9,899.
