Kymco reveals two-and-three-wheel ‘Adventure’ scooter concepts at Eicma

A COUPLE of years after first seeing Honda’s X-ADV, we’re still trying to work out exactly what an ‘adventure’ scooter is.

But it looks like we’re going to have to get used to the idea, because Kymco has just revealed two ‘Adventure Tourer’ scooter concepts at the Eicma motorcycle show in Milan.

One’s got two wheels and one has three, and both provide ‘The Luxury of Discovery’, allowing riders to ‘fulfil their dreams of exploring the uncharted,’ the Taiwanese firm says.

They’re called the CV2 and CV3, with no prizes for guessing which is which, and Kymco has collectively named them the 'C Series Concept'.

The CV3

Specifications have not been confirmed but Kymco says they are ‘expected’ (by whom?) to have an engine with a higher power output than the firm’s AK 550 maxi-scooter, which makes a claimed 53.5hp.

Both have ‘adventure oriented’ tyres and Brembo brake calipers.

A range of accessories will include a top box and panniers ‘a child footrest’ and, by the look of it, a roof.

Kymco Group Chairman Mr Allen Ko said: “It allows you to pursue the spirit of discover-new-journey-of-life, whether riding in beautiful conditions or in bad weathers.”

Took the words right out of our mouth.
