KTM'S all-new Super Duke R will accelerate from zero to 124mph in 7.2 seconds, the firm claims.
KTM released the acceleration figure along with specifications and new pictures on a microsite for the 1290.
The 1301cc 75° V-twin, with a huge 108 x 71mm bore and stroke, makes a claimed 180bhp. Claimed torque is 106lbft, with 73lbft from as low as 2500rpm. Dry weight is 189kg.
Braking is taken care of by two four-piston radially-bolted Brembo calipers on 320mm discs up front, and a two-piston Brembo caliper at the rear.
The 1290 features Bosch’s combined ABS and new ‘MSC’ motorcycle stability system, recently tested by Visordown on KTM's 2014-spec 1190 Adventure. It’s the first ABS system which can effectively prevent low-sides under hard braking in corners.
There’s a 'Supermoto' mode which disables the rear ABS, allowing you to slide.
The long-awaited new naked bike also shares the 1190’s sophisticated traction control system.
It has a Chromium-Molybdenum-Steel powder-coated trellis frame, an 835mm seat-height and an 18-litre fuel tank.
