SPOTTED outside the Ducati gates in Bologna last month the Streetfighter 848 has been snapped again, this time inside the factory and tweeted by Nicky Hayden.
The image doesn't reveal anything more than what is known about the 848-engined naked except the Brembo brakes lifted from the Monster, rather than the Monoblocs from the bigger Streetfighter. The real news is that Nicky has announced that the bike will be revealed on Monday (tweeting the tag #droppingonmonday).
The original Streetfighter never set showrooms buzzing with customers in its original guise, but perhaps as a cheaper, lower-capacity model it might do a bit better. Even if it doesn’t there are minimal development and tooling costs involved in making the 848 version, so if sales are quite low it could still be profitable.
