70s styled Harley, that looks a bit like a 40s Harley that looks a bit like a modern Harley. Umm.

HARLEY is teasing two new models set for release on February 10 and we can reveal they are the 1200cc Sportster Seventy-Two and the 1690cc Softail Slim.

The Sportster takes its cue from the existing Forty-Eight model, but instead of being designed to look like it's come from a 1940s timewarp, you've guessed it, it's straight out of 1972. So instead of blacked-out details, low bars and equal-sized front and rear wheels, the new machine gets a dose of 1970s over-the-top chopper design. Ape hangers, masses of chrome, huge front wheel and white wall tyres are all set to feature on the new machine.

The Softail Slim, seen here in a leaked brochure shot, is a Fat Boy after a diet. Flat bars, wire wheels and subtle, chrome-free looks are fitted to the usual Softail chassis and the latest 103 cu-in version of Harley's classic big V-twin.
