Guzzi goes back to black at Wheels and Waves 2018

Classy chrome 'n' black limited edition V7 keeps it simple amongst the custom madness

Moto Guzzi V7 Limited

OKAY, SO Moto Guzzi isn't quite beating down the frontiers of bike tech with its old-school Latin cruisers. Mandello del Lario's version of a Harley-Davidson is much as it ever was these days - an archetypal 90° transverse V-twin, air-cooled, with slightly clunky shaft drive, and classic styling. And there's nothing wrong with that at all, we reckon. Plenty of you agree too - Guzzi's done well out of the current retro Bike Shed revival schtick, and we've spoken to London dealers who are selling every V7 and V9 they can get hold of.

There's nothing wrong with this limited edition bike, on show at Biarritz this weekend either. Sure, it's not very innovative, and when we opened the pics, we thought they were in black and white at first, till we saw the tail light... Yes, this limited edition V7 III Limited comes in any colour you like, as long as it's black, and chrome. The tank is chromed all over with a black leather top strap rounding off the effect. There's also a smattering of carbon fibre on the front mudguard and side panels, billet machined aluminium bits, and a classy, hand-stitched saddle.

So, no flax bodywork, Raspbery Pi hazard warning lights, Bluetooth fuel caps or Wi-Fi sidestands here - just the basics, ma'm. And all the better for it we imagine.

500 are being made, with 20 coming to the UK. Price is £8,999 on the road, and you'll find more info here.
