When a Moto Guzzi just isn't oddball enough...
SPY pictures of the bike you see here were circulating a few weeks ago with some commentators suggesting they showed a brand new Moto Guzzi model.
Now the truth is out – the bike's a new machine not from Moto Guzzi but renowned Guzzi tuners Ghezzi & Brian.
Not heard of them? It's the firm that created Guzzi sports bikes long before the MGS-01 (and helped design the MGS-01, too).
Called the Motard V-Twin (say what you see, right?) there's something a bit KTM-circa-late-1990s about its styling, aided and abetted by the use of orange paint and stacked headlights, but it does feature some interesting technology.
For instance, there's “Dynamic Damping Action” which apparently “adjusts the shock absorber response to road conditions automatically in real time”. No, we don't know how it can tell what the road conditions are either, but it sounds clever.
The Kineo spoked wheels are also of a cunning design; the alloy rims have tabs cast into them to mount the wire spokes, removing the need to have holes through the rim itself – so tubeless tyres are no problem.
You don't actually get to buy the Motard V-Twin as a complete bike. Instead it's going to be sold as a kit. You'll also need a Moto Guzzi Griso to tear apart.
