First Look: The Laverda SideCAR

Here's what happens when a mad Frenchman gets his hands on a Laverda triple and numerous car parts

Partner wants to go by car? Here's your answer!

YOU'RE LOOKING at the work of French motorcyclist and bike nut François Knorreck.

François has taken a 1000cc Laverda triple-cylinder motorcycle and, somehow, melded it to a hand-crafted vehicle - all to his own exacting standards.

Parts to build the unique contraption came from various cars including: Renault, Citroen, BMW, VW and Audi.

The project has taken Knorreck 10,000 hours to complete and has cost the zany Frenchman around £12,000.

I don't think it is that unusual either - I've seen similar conjoined bike-sidecar types from the Europeans for decades.

Apparently Matchless have bought AJS!

They've called the new-fangled company 'Associated Motorcycles' or something.  Can't see it working myself.

Sidecarjohn... long time no see, welcome back!

When there's nothing to report in the bike world then folk involved seem to have to justify their existence by picking up on old stories, or, as many daily newspapers do, make it up.

Why did Visordown report this particular sidecar ? Someone on the staff just happened to be trawling through some other forums, or websites I suspect. No worries, it happens. However, my point was that this particular reference was a wee bit dated, so it was worth taking a pop.

Can't believe the story about AJS and Matchless. Next thing will be someone suggesting Nortons and Triumphs getting together, along with Villiers.

The story made Top Gear last night, they thought it was one of the ugliest  things they have ever seen.

Does this mean that Top Gear reads VD? Or that it gets its news stories from the same place

Probably. Let's face it, just because Clarkson's initials are JC, it doesn't make him God.

How long before someone, somewhere picks up on the JC suggestion ????? Remember where you heard it first.
