First Look: 2011 Honda Mid Concept scooter

Will this really “reinvent the way we look at two wheeled travel”?

HONDA HAS unveiled the company's new Mid Concept scooter at this year's Milan Motorcycle Show.

The company says the machine will “reinvent the way we look at two wheeled travel”, claiming to combine "innovative thinking and new technology to create a multi discipline machine.”

Mmm.

Featuring the dual-clutch system seen on the VFR1200F, the bike uses 17 inch wheels with single shock rear suspension.

We reckon it looks just like any other big scooter

It has the disadvantage of looking a bit rubbish like a scooter without any of the benefits (huge storage space under the seat will be take up by engine, chain will need adjusting, etc.).  Whatever their market research guys are thinking, they dropped the ball on this one.

Mr. BleedingObvious

Looks like a re-styled face lifted Honda SH300i like I have. Just as pathetic underseat storage (and storage generally) but my... doesnt my SH keep up with most 500-600s but with nearly twice as good MPG...

Selling for something with a lot more storage.. this looks not bad, but just a mid life refresh. Come on honda, less sparkle, more function..

Duh Twit

Market research also showed that there really isn't a need for persons to travel by car when walking was quite cheap, convenient and practical.

Every product has a niche customer. The iPhone was once a niche product.

STFU hater!

Surely an $8000+ Machine with a $20 swing arm made on one of India's slums with $2 worth of scrap rectangular tubing.  WTF Honda?
