Ducati unveils draXter concept bike

Super-trick XDiavel on display at Motor Bike Expo in Verona

DUCATI has used the Motor Bike Expo in Verona to unveil its draXter concept – a drag-racing interpretation of the XDiavel that was introduced to the world at last November's Eicma show.

The draXter is a styling project by the Advanced Design arm of Ducati’s in-house design team, the Ducati Design Centre.

It looks like an XDiavel that's been blinged up with an unlimited budget - the suspension and brakes are straight off the Panigale superbike. And check out the the monstrous-looking Termignoni exhaust, which exits the underside of the bike like a giant tusk.

The wheels are also different compared to the standard XDiavel and it's wearing a mammouth-section slick rear tyre.

The standard XDiavel doesn’t doesn't exactly lack presence but Ducati’s designers have accentuated its lines, giving it a more aggressive look by binning the headlight, adding a bigger, swooping front mudguard and a more upturned, sharper tail unit.

The number 90 on the is a nod to Ducati's 90th anniversary, being celebrated this year.

The Motor Bike Expo is on in Verona until Sunday January 24. Chances are if you're walking around, you won't miss this bike.
