BMW scooters confirmed

Despite BMW's denial of an electric C1, the scooter rumours were true

THE BMW Concept C scooter revealed last November will spawn two production derivatives as part of the firm's 2012 model range.

BMW Motorrad vice president Hermann Bohrer has confirmed that the company will launch two maxi-scooters at the Milan show in November this year and that they will be on sale in 2012.

The chances are that the two scooters will be closely related to the Concept C, just as the two versions of the new K1600 are virtually identical, under the skin, to the Concept 6 revealed in 2009. While the blue tyres and sci-fi headlights are probably purely for the Concept C, the chassis, suspension and even some elements of the styling are likely to make it to the production machines
