Has Kawasaki built a winner for 2011? We think so

FAST BUT comfortable, sporty, aggressive and stylish - that's what we made of Kawasaki's new Z1000SX when we visited the Cologne Motorcycle Show earlier this week.

Based on the company's existing Z1000 naked, the SX features a host of rider-friendly additions, including an aerodynamic full fairing with adustable screen, optional ABS and sportsbike styling coupled with, what looks like, all day comfort.

No firm news on UK pricing but we're estimating around £9500 when it goes on sale early next year.

Like it?

At first I thought this would be the perfect bike cos the 650 is near perfect but lacked the engine and phsycal size. A 1000cc seemed perfect.

But alas its the same built size as the naked Z1000 which I find a tad too small even for a smalley like me at 5'9" and 160 pounds. While its probabbly an advantage for town use I rather swap that for a proper big bike feel.

I'd prefer more leg room and roomier seats. After all I think they are marketing this as a sports tourer much like the 650R and not a proper out and out super sports.

So if you hooked a couple of panniers on it when touring it'd look pretty weird. Unfortunately its neither here nor there for me thanks to its size.

lol im also 6.5"  and i ride a kawasaki zx12 which to be honest looks like a 600 when i sit on it , as for the new bikes , well if they dont watch out what they are doing they wont be able to sell them . Due to the population getting taller .

Bigger bikes dont have to be trail bikes .

I'm 6ft, over 200lbs and ride a Z1000 which is almost perfectly sized - it's my weight that's the problem not the bike's size. What's wrong with your body that you find this bike too small?

I love this bike, almost wish I'd waited until next year
