2011 Honda V4 adventure sportsbike

New sketches revealed ahead of Milan Motorcycle Show

WITH JUST DAYS to go to the start of the Milan Motorcycle Show, Honda has unveiled yet another sketch of the company's much-anticipated V4 adventure sportsbike.

It's anticipated the new machine will mimic the styling cues set by the VFR1200F, Fireblade and CBR250R, revealed earlier today on Visordown.

Expect the new Honda to use a smaller, 800cc version of the VFR1200's engine, along with dual purpose styling, traction control and engine mapping.

We think it'll prove popular for those riders wanting a modern day Africa Twin with up-to-the-minute technology.

From Honda:

"This mid-range machine is an exciting new approach – a crossover machine that represents the best aspects of two separate biking genres.  It will have the flexibility and exciting attitude of a Naked performance machine, with the more comfortable upright riding position and design cues inspired by adventure bikes.

"With the low centre of gravity of a performance bike it is great fun to ride, and because of its wide handlebars and upright riding position it is both easy to manoeuvre and comfortable."

20 years ago, Yamaha had the same idea, they called it the TDM.

I'm guessing Honda have took on its mantle because Yamaha are skint and cannot update a truely fantastic "crossover" bike.

tiger 800 or this?

depends on spec v price innit.

It looks like something dreamt up for a futuristic  computer game. Not the sort of bike to take down dirt tracks and fall off.  Although Honda would like that!  Think of the money they can make selling all those vunerable bits that'll get broken.
