A FORMER Buell engineer has joined battery-powered motorcycle manufacturer Zero Motorcycles as the Vice President of Engineering.
Abe Askenazi, who up until the demise of Buell roadbikes, recently held the position of senior director of analysis, testing and engineering with the now defunct company.
Askenazi helped Buell develop 26 models from concept to production, as well as helping with patents for front brake rotor mounting, lightweight wheels and an integral fuel storage unit with breakaway steering head.
“Abe is a seasoned leader and engineer and is an excellent addition to our management team,” says Gene Banman, chief executive officer of Zero Motorcycles. “He impressed us with his vast experience and many successes at Buell and we are looking forward to working with Abe in his new capacity at Zero Motorcycles.”
Buell now makes racebikes only, under the banner of 'Erik Buell Racing'.
