Sports-tourer sales down 40 per cent
But Adventure Sports hold steady in August 2010 figures
SALES OF Sports-tourers in the UK took a massive hit last month, dropping almost 40 per cent on the same period last year, reports the Motorcycle Industry Association.
Just 322 sports tourers were registered in August 2010, compared to 517 in August '09 - a drop of 37.7 per cent.
Despite the bad news, sales of Adventure Sports machines were up, albeit a measly 0.5 percent, with sales creeping from 550 units in August 2009 to 553 for the same month this year.As expected, BMW's R1200GS Adventure stole the majority of the sales in the category, with 60 machines registered in the month.
