Motorcycle sales up in November 2010

Signs of recovery, despite overall decline in figures

UK MOTORCYCLE SALES buoyed last month, with several categories up in an otherwise depressed market.

Supersport sales, a category hit hardest by the ongoing economic downturn, posted an increase in sales for November 2011 - 19 per cent up on the same month for the previous year.

November 2010 UK sales figures by category  (2009 in brackets)

ADVENTURE SPORT 431 (421) +2.4%
CUSTOM 453 (396) +14.4%
NAKED 949 (1,118) -15.1%
SCOOTER 1,174 (1,127) +4.2%
SPORT/TOUR 291 (316) -7.9%
SUPERSPORT 740 (618) 19.7%
TOURING 151 (164) -7.9%
TRAIL/ENDURO 472 (378) +24.9%
UNSPECIFIED 22 (31) -29.0%

OK... so why quote supersport's increase of only 19.7% when trail/enduro went up 24.9%?... & scooters still hold the highest sales... strange headline... are you only interested in supersports?
