Big-bore tourers, adventure sports and sports tourers boost UK sales figures in March 2010
MARCH 2010 REGISTRATIONS of 1000cc+ motorcycles are up 15.6 per cent on the same period last year, the MCI has confirmed.
Statistics show 3,713 machines of 1000cc and over were registered in March 2010, compared to 3,211 in March '09.
The trend opposes the overall drop in motorcycles sales of 11.8 per cent compared to March 2009.
The rise has been attributed to increased sales of large capacity sports-tourers, tourers, adventure sports and cruisers, rather than the supersports machines, which saw a drop of 27 per cent.
