KTM HAS continued to expand its presence in Asia with the opening of a new factory in the Philippines, which it says will strive to produce 10,000 units per year.
KTM Philippines plant will produce four of the firm’s Street models – the 200 Duke, 390 Duke, RC 200 and RC 390. The plant will begin operation by producing 6,000 bikes for the Asian market, before increasing production up to five figures.
This latest facility is part of KTM global expansion, which is also part of its objective to meet demand in varied markets - both local to the plant and as far away as China.
In a press release, Hubert Trunkenpolz, president of KTM Asia Motorcycle Manufacturing said:
‘It seems like a frequent message from us but the opening of this new plant at Laguna and in the Philippines is another fantastic example of how we are managing to take the KTM brand to new corners of the world and touch fresh markets and riders; it’s a really exciting time of progression for the company. We want to thank the efforts of KTM Asia Motorcycle Manufacturing Inc. for this latest chapter in our story and it is important for us that we have the right – and best – presence in a part of the world where the motorcycle is such a prominent feature of everyday life.
