IN what looks like the least likely partnership since Russell Brand married Katy whatshername, Hero, the world's largest motorcycle manufacturer have formed a 'strategic partnership' with Erik Buell Racing.

The immediate and most obvious result of this partnership is that Hero will be the main sponsor of Erik Buell Racing's EBR1190RS that will compete in this year's AMA championship.

However, both sides say the partnership will run deeper, with EBR supplying 'cutting-edge technology and design' to Hero. It's likely that Hero have taken a stake in Erik Buell Racing, giving EBR a much-needed cash boost.

Mr. Pawan Munjal, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of Hero MotoCorp said: “It gives me immense pleasure to welcome Erik Buell to the exciting world of Hero MotoCorp. ... The Indian two-wheeler industry is set to evolve, and it is only natural that as the market leader, we are driving this change. As a part of this plan, Erik is going to play an integral role in giving shape to some of my dream two-wheelers for the discerning youth of today."

Its about time someone recognizes Eric Buell's immense talent for building bikes. Ever since Harley Davidson dropped him, he has been struggling to build his own bikes and keep up with the big teams in AMA. hopefully he will be able to not only compete, but win with he new 1190RS and Danny Eslick riding for him. Thanks alot HERO.
