Buell: One for the scrapbook

See the last-ever Buell roll off the production line

Buell no. 136,923

via Hell for Leather

TWENTY-SIX years after building their first motorcycle, Buell employees watched as the last machine rolled off the production line last week.

The company have built 136,923 motorcycles since 1983; the last, an XB12SCG was wheeled off the assembly line on Thursday 12th November. Earlier this month, company founder Erick Buell gave an emotional video press release explaining why his beloved company was going under. See the story here.

It's a sad day when any motorcycle manufacturer goes to the wall; we think the scrap heap image kinda says it all...

A real shame seeing all those guys faces as the bike is wheeled out. They'll all have had the heave ho.

As much as I don't quite 'dig' the Buell range, I totally admire the multitude of markets they took on and feel saddened to see those poor chaps in the background looking on as the last bike is wheeled away.  I hope the company’s demise spawns some new custom manufacturers as there are some very clever people that have been left unemployed.

Sad to see Buell go. I hope they can be resurrected some time in the future. They added a lot of colour and variety to the world of bikes.

Looks like a short production line to me?

Sad end for a company that always came out fighting....

Should mean some Buells going cheap though . . .
