THAILAND'S AP Honda has posted record sales in the first half of 2012 and is looking likely to continue this trend for the rest of the year.

Honda achieved 763,000 unit sales in the first half of the year out of a total of 1.1million bikes sold.

Honda held a 70-per-cent share of overall motorcycle sales in June, with 142,317 units registered.

Growth of motorcycle sales has been spurred by a host of positive economic factors, including gross domestic product, which is projected to increase by between 5.5 and 6.5 per cent this year, as well as exports, which are expected to rise by 15 per cent.

In 2011, there were 93,249 registrations of new motorcycles and scooters throughout the UK.

Good to be a biker there too - some great off road riding and a new CRF250L is just £2,800.
