Yamaha MT-10

WE’VE just launched our awards for the best bikes of the year, and as always we’re letting you choose winners.

You have until Friday to vote for your favourite from shortlists in 11 categories.

It’s been another exciting year for new bike launches, and some of those categories have completely changed since last year. In the retro bike category, eight out of 10 models are new.

With manufacturers producing so many new models to meet the demands of a changing market, it’s only fair to recognise the best – so get voting now.

We’ve got categories for best sports bike, best adventure bike, best sports-tourer and more. Find them all, and vote for the ones you think should win our Readers' Choice awards, here.

As always, we’ll pick our own winners too, and announce them all next week.

The press need to get their act together instead of being misled by the manufacturers.
Just look at the car industry to see what is happening with it's huge drive towards electric, zero emissions and hybrid power. Most of the bikes featured in your "Favourite bike of 2016" feature could in less than 10 years, be banned from most major European cities or face stiff charges for their emissions. Why are you not lobbying for greener and cleaner bikes? Have any of the Visor Down journalists ridden the latest breed of electric bikes? Not even one on your list - you could be doing the public a great disservice. Go on, be the first motorcycle publication to say you actually like them and start actively promoting electric motorcycles...It may prevent you looking very stupid in 10 years time.
