Time running out for Brit racer's stolen Alta bikes

Lyndon Poskitt's electric MX bikes stolen en route to Erzberg rodeo race

Poskitt Alta

UK MX RACER Lyndon Poskitt is frantically trying to recover his Alta electric race bikes, after they were stolen from his van on the M11 yesterday. But he's also racing against time, since the Erzberg Rodeo race he's due to compete in kicks off in just two days' time. Unless his bikes turn up today, the former Dakar racer and round-the-world adventurer will be out.

The bikes were stolen from Poskitt's van at Jcn 7 of the M11 yesterday. They are very unusual Alta electric MX machines - the only ones in the UK, and super rare. They've been specially prepped with WP cone valve forks, race mapping etc, and will stick out a mile. The thieves also took generators, laptops, cameras and other kit - but it's the bikes which are irreplaceable. "There's no time to get more bikes to him," an Alta spokesperson told us. "Those bikes have all sorts of race parts on them, custom maps, etc."

If you can help, there's a £5k reward for return of the bikes in time. But the clock is ticking, so keep em peeled. There are some reports of the bikes being seen around Stratford in East London.
