Partnership with Swinton insurance aims to give riders tip as summer riding season begins

IAM riding tips

ROAD SAFETY charity IAM RoadSmart has teamed up with Swinton Insurance to create a motorcycle ride safety guides website offering riders safety tips as the summer riding season gets in to full swing.

The IAM has contributed some of its own guide content to give riders tips on topics such as filtering, riding in a range of conditions, looing out for vulterable road users and perhaps most importantly, considering the time of year – dusting off the cobwebs and getting back in the saddle.

Swinton and the IAM have also teamed up with experienced riders to create guides to riding on some of the UK’s most dangerous roads, includign th A62 and A23, plus things like tyre safety, tackling tricky conditions and bike handling.

Rodney Kumar, spokesman for IAM RoadSmart, said:

'We often find that while drivers and motorcyclists strive to be as safe as possible, some find it a challenge to understand exactly how to do so. And as time passes after our driving and riding tests, some of the simple tips we learnt to help stay safe can fade into the background. That’s why it’s so important to offer useful and easily digestible information on how to be a safer rider. We are excited to partner with Swinton to help spread the word about national motorcycle safety.'
