Look no further, as this April Bonhams is holding its Spring Stafford Sale, offering pioneer, vintage and collectable motorbikes, memorabilia and parts.
The catalogue is nothing short of a classic rider’s utopia, and features masterpieces from the likes of Brough Superior and MV Agusta. There’s even a Vanquish V8, valued at between 35 and 40k.
Naturally, we’ve been browsing, coveting and crying at what we can’t afford – for example this 1974 Ducati 750 GT. Estimated to sell for between £16,000 and £20,000, it’s technically affordable compared to some of the other models.
The 750 GT made history as Ducati's first road-going V-twin. Designed by the legendary Fabio Taglioni, it launched in 1971 featuring the now famed 90-degree layout. This engine delivered exceptional smoothness in a long wheelbase and such was its success that it secured a number of wins in Formula 750, beginning with Paul Smart's famous victory at Imola in 1972.
Reg no. JHU 561N started life in Italy and comes with copies of its original Italian registration papers, among other documents and receipts. According to the listing, its late owner bought it for £11,000 in December 2012 and immediately spent £30,000 on a complete restoration.
On top of its original specification, it features a high-output alternator and a second front disc brake.
