VISORDOWN and Kawasaki’s search for Britain’s best undiscovered biking roads is well under way, with loads of you responding to our call for suggestions last week.
In case you didn’t catch it, we’re looking for the country’s most amazing but lesser-known biking route – and Kawasaki is offering a fantastic prize to the reader who tells us where it is.
The prize bundle consists of two Team Green VIP passes to a BSB round, a Kawasaki watch (pictured below) worth £73, a Kawasaki jacket worth £72 and a signed poster of Kawasaki BSB star Leon Haslam.
And now we’re giving you another week to nominate a road for your chance to win.
Suggestions so far include the B1503 from Uttoxeter to Rugely in Staffordshire, which leads from sweeping bends into this unexpected straight across a huge reservoir. Thanks, Tim Bonham. It might just make our shortlist of the five that look the best.
Once we’ve chosen that shortlist, we’ll go and ride each of the routes on one of five different Kawasaki models: the ZX-10R, Z900, Z650, Ninja 650 and Vulcan S. Leon Haslam himself will ride a couple of the routes.
Then we’ll choose our favourite, and give the person who nominated it the prize bundle.
We’re looking for the roads you ride not because you found them on Google or read about them in a guide but because you know them first-hand and love them, and keep going back.
It could because of the scenery or it could be the challenge they present. They could be switchbacks or stunning stretches of coast. You just need to tell us.
Submit your suggestions now to Visordown’s Editor by emailing Steve@Visordown.com with the subject ‘Best roads’.
We need to know the name of the road, where the section you’re nominating begins and starts and why you like it so much.
You must be over 18 and a UK resident to enter.
The VIP passes can be used at any BSB round this year except Knockhill and Assen and include weekend entry and hospitality with the JG Speedfit Kawasaki race team.
You have until midnight on May 17 to get your nominations in.
However, in the event that the winning stretch of road has been nominated by more than one entrant, the prize will go to whoever suggested it first - so don't delay.
