700 women given free bikes during Women on Wheels Rally

SEVEN hundred women have been given free Honda CD-70s as part of the Women on Wheels movement in Pakistan.

The collaboration with Lahore’s Transport Department, Bank of Punjab and Honda Atlas, Punjab Excise Minister Mian Mujtaba Shuja ur Rehman handed over the keys in Lahore.

The minister said the aim of the Women on Wheels rally was to award subsidized bikes to successful (WoW) candidates, adding that the motorcycles have been given to the women hailing from five districts including Lahore, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Multan and Rawalpindi where the first phase of the WoW campaign was launched.

Secretary Excise Dr. Ahmed Bilal, UN Women Country Head Jamshed Kazi, representative of Bank of Punjab Ms. Urooj and renowned human rights activist Hina Gillani and others attended the event.
