No one was saying the owd fella was a saint, just he was a lot smaller, Jewish, disabled and a pensioner some16 years older then the guy who ended up in hospital. Sure, there are old folk who bad mouth bikers. In my time I and others have been on the receiving end of abuse by geriatrics simply because of long hair, leather and two wheels but we do not retaliate, to do so would just be lame and we have a bit more pride than that. Shrug and pass on by or laugh it off.
Furthermore, on the subject of facts, no cctv evidence was ever mentioned and if the police had had any footage it would have been used as material evidence and the OAP would have not been facing actual bodily harm. The injuries to Hall are not consistent with being struck from behind with anything let alone an 'metal bar'. Fractured cheek and facial injuries speak of a frontal assault not one from behind. A walking stick is quite capable of inflicting the injuries, as is a trained fist. There are a lot of old Jewish guys around who have been trained and fought in the Israil army, it's kind of a thing with them, even if born in other countries, to go out and do a stint. It could be that the OAP is one such and Hall picked the wrong guy to get into strife with.
Anyway, regardless of all that, 'David' took out 'Goliath' to quote the old book of fairy tales, and the blue angels do not exactly have a history of pacifism nor fighting fair themselves. The so called 'stain on their honour' is not because one of their number was bested in a fight but the very fact that they went crying to the police because he lost. It's an own goal guys.
By involving the police they made the whole thing very public and shamed themselves, that action showed a total lack of class and reflects badly on all bikers. It's an own goal guys.
Let us hope they do not compound their poor judgement with some half assed vendetta because that will only make a bad business worse for everyone on two wheels.
