Ladder-carrying biker causes three-car smash

A BIKER carrying a stepladder is being sought by police after causing three cars to crash on the A11 in Suffolk.

The accident took place near Elveden at the crossroads on the A11.

Initial reports suggested that the biker was carrying a ladder mounted sideways on the bike and that ladder hit three oncoming cars resulting in some of the car's occupants, a woman and two children, being hurt and requiring medical attention.

However, on speaking to the Suffolk Police Press Office, we have established that witnesses saw the motorcycle carrying a stepladder which had extended, presumably with the rider unaware. An oncoming car took avoiding action, causing two other cars travelling in the same direction to crash.

Police are looking for the rider of the silver motorcycle to come forward.
