British young gun gets dream ride following series of impressive home-turf peformances
BRITISH SUPERSPORT young gun James Westmoreland has bagged a wild card entry to the Donington round of the World Supersport championship.
Currently lying sixth overall in the UK series, Westmoreland has been mightily impressive recently with a stunning string of rides on his Triumph 675.
Running his own team, on a tight budget, Westy has gone for the world ride on June 28 to try and drum up more sponsorship.
Westmoreland said: “This is a massive opportunity for myself and the whole team to step up to the challenge of the world championship. It is no secret this is where I would like to see my career heading so to race with the best riders in the world would be a awesome opportunity. I know we have a very good package to have a good weekend. As much as I am looking forward to riding at this level I am very aware of how hard it will be, and my focus is on round five this weekend at Snetterton, then look forward to Donington and the World round."
