Kawasaki ontop as Honda are edged out of top three in final World Supersport free practice
KAWASAKI has taken provisional pole position in this weekend's chase for the World Supersport championship race at Valencia with Joan Lascorz topping the timesheets in the final Friday outing for the battling middleweights.
Brit Cal Crutchlow was second at the end of the session - but he was 0.7s slower than the Spaniard who lead for the entire session.
Former World Champion Kenan Sofuoglu was fourth, going out on the 2009 Honda CBR600 for the first time. Both Sofuoglu and team-mate Andre Pitt have been using 2008 bikes for the first two rounds of the championship so far.
Qatar race winner Eugene Laverty was 14th at the end of the session.
