BMW ANNOUNCED at the Paris Motorcycle Show today that the company will compete in the World Superbike series, starting in 2009.
BMW wouldn't reveal what type of bike will be raced in the series, but inside sources told Visordown the German manufacturer will be releasing a new four-cylinder sportsbike within the next twelve months. It's rumoured the new bike will be BMW's first big-bore machine to use chain or belt drive, rather than the shaft system used on most of the company's range.
Visordown will keep you updated of any developments as soon as we get them.
