The latest news on the Frenchman's condition after his high-speed crash at Kyalami
REGIS Laconi has been brought out of his medically induced coma and is reported to be slowly improving, following his basty highspeed crash during Friday practice at Kyalami which saw him airlifted to hospital.
The Frenchman suffered a broken back but fortunately, he did not suffer serious nerve damage and therefore has not lost the use of any limbs, and brain scans have also showed positive results.
Laconi will stay in South Africa for surgery on Tuesday, and he could return to France to recover by the end of the month. If surgery goes to plan, it's thought he could be fit to ride his DFX Ducati before the end of the season.
