WSB: Polita in for double-break Muggeridge

Alex Polita secures a seat for the next two rounds of World Superbikes

THE MAN with no racing home, Alex Polita, has found a temporary ride in WSB while Karl Muggeridge is recovering from his DOUBLE broken back injury.

The Celani Suzuki team will field Italian Polita in the next two World Superbike rounds on June 21 at Misano and June 28 at Donington. Following a medical check, team owner Daniele Celani and Muggeridge himself have agreed to delay the Australian's return to the series by a few more weeks to allow him to recover from the two areas of cracked vertebrae he picked up at Assen, which a CAT scan confirmed on his return from the USA.

Karl's place in the two rounds in successive weekends will now be taken by Polita, who found himself out of a ride after Suzuki Hoegee recently pulled out of the Supersport World Championship. That happened after a dismal start to the year when he lost his ride at the Sterilgarda Ducati squad alongside double British Superbike Champion Shane Byrne.

A reappraisal of Muggeridge's condition will be made at the start of July to see if he is strong enough to return for the Brno round on the 26th of the month.
