REIGNING WORLD Superstock champion Niccolo Canepa will join a host of WSB regulars and hopefuls at a huge test next week at Vallelunga as part of the WSB event which happens on September 21.
The majority of the frontrunners will attend the tests, scheduled for July 8 and 9, bar the Alstare Suzuki line-up of Fonsi Nieto, Max Neukirchner and Yukio Kagayama.
The Xerox squad of Troy Bayliss and Michel Fabrizio, the Sterilgarda Go Eleven team of Misano winner Ruben Xaus and team-mate Max Biaggi, Lorenzo Lanzi (RG) and Jakub Smrz (Guandalini) will all be testing.
Canepa, will use the two days to get to grips with the 1098 with which he will line up at the next round of the championship at Brno, then Vallelunga and finally Magny-Cours as wild-card.
Honda Hannspree Ten Kate team riders Carlos Checa, Ryuichi Kiyonari and Kenan Sofuoglu will be testing, joined by DFX (with Karl Muggeridge and Luca Morelli), Alto Evolution (Jason Pridmore and Shuhei Aoyama) and Hannspree Althea (Roberto Rolfo).
Noriyuki Haga and Troy Corser will test their Yamahas alongside Shinichi Nakatomi (Yamaha France), while the PSG-1 Corse squad will bring their Kawasaki ZX-10R machines to the Rome track for Regis Laconi and Makoto Tamada.
Going to be an interesting couple of days to watch, especially interesting to see how Canepa does in a crowd.
