WSB: Neukirchner tops timesheets at Losail

The German posted a quickest time of 2:00.486, a tenth faster than WSB rookie Ben Spies. The Texan, who won the second race in the opening round of the championship at Phillip Island to weeks ago, took his Yamaha YZF-R1 to a best of 2:00.514.

Ireland's Jonny Rea, riding a Hannspree Ten Kate Honda, was third fastest around Losail's table-flat track; Rea squeezed a best time of 2:00.676.

Other Brit riders: Tom Sykes claimed the tenth fastest time of the day, followed by Shane Byrne in eleventh place. Leon Haslam, who took a podium at Phillip Island, ended the session in thirteenth position.
