REGIS LACONI is recovering well after breaking his neck in two places in South Africa - even managing to pinch a pretty nurse's arse!
The Frenchman has flown back from Johannesburg to Marseilles and according to his manager Paul-Louis Collignon, was in fine form from the moment he landed.
Collignon said: "I met him at the airport and he was wheeled off the plane in a wheelchair. When he saw me he leaped out of the chair like a jack in the box and hugged me.
"It was the last thing I expected, it was a real tonic for both of us. It was a good surprise. Regis is doing remarkably well, even if there is a little something out of touch with reality still.
"As we were leaving the airport he even tried to claim the keys for the car because he was insisting that he was driving. There was a young doctor who accompanied him on the flight over, a pretty young woman - she was completely to Regis' taste. It was not long before she had her bottom pinched and a proposal of marriage from him, so things are definitely getting back to normal!
"He looks drawn and tired, but that's what you'd expect for someone who has spent 20 days in hospital, going through what he has. But it's great, it's like a dream to see him so well. It will still take a long time for him to be fully fit again, but he has already made huge progress already."
