Bed-ridden for a fornight - Stiggy Honda star focuses returning to racing by June 21st
ANGLO-AMERICAN John Hopkins says he will make his return to the WSB at Misano on June 21st after his horrific hip dislocation following his huge highside at Assen.
The injury was so severe is left the American unable to walk, in the initial part of the crash his hip was severely dislocated and he cracked the top of his femur in the resulting tumble.
Three weeks ago, Hopper was under the knife of specialist Dr. Ting and the surgery was deemed a success.
The Stiggy Honda rider said: "The aim right now is to get back in shape before the next race in Misano. I have been bed-ridden for two weeks straight, which was an absolute horror for me. Right now I am just obeying my doctor's orders and take things step by step. I'm back on my feet walking again without sticks and I am going into the gym again on Monday. I need to rebuild the strength in my muscles and improve my fitness again."
