WSB: Elias tipped for Yamaha squad

D'Antin Ducati star likely to make WSB switch for 2009

MOTOGP STAR Toni Elias, the man with the best riding style of all time, is being widely-tipped to replace Troy Corser in the Yamaha WSB squad next year.

Our spies now say that MotoGP star Toni Elias is to step onto the Yamaha R1 in 2009.

Apparently a deal has been agreed taking the Spaniard away from MotoGP to join Noriyuki Haga on the all-new R1 next season. The next-generation R1 is, according to Randy Mamola, getting smaller for next year and will take technology directly used on Valentino Rossi's M1 racebike.

Elias on that bike? We can't wait to see that. Move over Haga, new nutter coming through.

Is corser retiring then or is he being shown the door. Bit odd as I thought it was he was ahead o f Haga in the stanbings.

If he has the greatest riding style, why is he going to wsb?

Corser is rumoured to be going to BMW with Xaus, Elias may be Haga's team mate.....hope they've got a good supply of fairings

I hope he does better than his hot and cold performances in Moto GP. Sure he has a dramatic and entertaining riding style,it's just a pity he's not closer to the front for the cameras to show most races.

The jury is out on this one.

Elias is another "flashes of brilliance but no consistency". Expect a couple of wins, a lot of crashes and lots of 8th,9th and 10th places

Not so sure myself, Elias on a decent bike is competitive with some of the best. Yes he crashes but him and Xuas bashing farings next year would be great

humm, think i'm going to have to agree with you on that ian.

he should fit right in at wsb because, with the exception of bayliss, there is no one with any consistancy.
