Biaggi...testing the new RSV4 at Valencia

HERE'S THE world's first picture of Max Biaggi riding the all-new 2009 Aprilia RSV4 World Superbike during a secret test in Valencia.

In favourable conditions (pretty warm, no strong winds) Biaggi apparently lapped on race pace during the day's testing. No times have been made available by the factory and Max is scheduled to ride the bike again immediately after the final round of the World Superbike Championship in Portimao, Portugal on November 2.

Gotta say i am looking forward to the new BMW with Xaus n Corser

but

with all them brits running around in WSB next year and Haga on the best bike gonna be a good season alround, might make WSB more exciting than GP's for a change

Apparently he isn't like that at all since he has been WSB and that has come from good sources as well.

I think Biaggi will go well. Defo a title contender imo (I hope so anyway as I am a big fan). I can't wait for next year now.....

Also, I actually think that, if they really want to, BMW could become seriously competitive quite quickly. Purely because they have so much money. Am I right in thinking they are the second richest car company only to Porsche?? If they want to, they could throw enough money at it to become competitive within the first year. Corser defo knows how to develop a bike. I think they could spring a few suprises next year....

Porsche cant be richer than the might of GM and Ford surely!!

However I also think the BMW could do well with Troy on board.

I am massive Haga fan and I am worried this could be his last chance on top machinary if he doesn't deliver the title on the 1098.

Also, there was something cool about Haga on the Yamaha. Not so sure about the Ducati.

I know Haga has done well on the Dukes as well and that was an underfunded team as well. I just worry a bit as his riding style may suit the IL4s more than the big Twin, but maybe the extra capacity may help.

WOuldnt be so sure.  amount of money and effort going in.....

I am disappointed with KTMs efforts though with the RC8 - I know its supposed to be in WSB next year but heard diddly squat about their efforts.....

" . . . the might of GM and Ford"?

Compare and contrast market cap (i.e., net business value) and cumulative profits for 2005-07 . . .

BMW: market cap €11bn, cum. profits €8.1bn (in $

Ford: market cap $4.6bn, cum. LOSSES $13.9bn

GM: market cap $3.3bn, cum LOSSES a staggering $51bn

Porsche is a bit more complex because all the voting equity is still held by the families, but they have profits 2005-7 of €6.4bn.

Who's mighty now?
