Championship leader, James Toseland, fell in race two, cutting the Britain's lead in the chamionship over Suzuki's Max Biaggi from 44 points to 29 with just two races remaining. Noriyuki Haga sits in third position, 32 behind Toseland.
Roman Emporer, Max Biaggi, won the first race at Vallelunga in front of his home crowd. The Italian took the lead on lap four, going on to win his third race of the year by just over five seconds on his Alstare Suzuki.
