LAST WEEK the rumour mill was rife with the news that Gregorio Lavilla has been sacked from the Vent Axia Honda WSB squad.

The latest news circling the paddock right now is that Alex Barros is going to replace the unlucky Spaniard on the Honda Fireblade at Vent Axia.

Trusted sources say the Brazilian will ride with the team for the remainder of the season.

We'd love to see the former MotoGP, WSB and 500GP man out there again. He just might be able to really take the scrap to Checa.

We'll let you know the second we hear anything more concrete on this.

more like lavilla needs to sack birdy he is just a wannabe obnoxious withit too,he has no respect for lavilla come to think of it any of his riders, i think he needs to apologise to lavilla for the pathetic comments he has made,he should be called paul bird motormouth , he needs to take a leaf out of colin wrights book ,completely by his riders all the way with respect for them too.

Who cares. If it was a British rider I'd show an interest.

well im just defending what i believe is right, english, spanish whatever nobody deserves to be treated like this thats a bit of a silly comment isnt it,im italian but i support lavilla hes spanish so what, anyway everyone is entitled to their own opinion and if you like backstabbers then thats fine

it seems to me that whilst i admire Paul Bird for putting up his own dosh season after season, and taking it to em as a privatere

i dont however like the way he treats his riders at times

but fair play to the bloke

the only surprise it that it took birdy this long to ditch greg

Posted: 14/09/2008 at 13:08

no the only surprise is lavilla is cool enough to see it through til the end of the season, if anyones a man in all this its lavilla

I would have thought he would have a contract to the end of the season anyway.  So maybe not a man at all, just obliged.

I'm surprised he's lasted this long myself. He's not had a good season has he?

yes your right but its no excuse for paul bird to treat him in this way is it,hes done this to other riders aswell, put yourself in lavillas shoes all the rumours going round behind your back ,the not knowing from one race to the next whats happening,i think this situation speaks for its self .

For the above read

Nicky Hayden at Honda, Marco Melandri at Ducati, Antony West at Kawasaki in MotoGP.

Colin Wright wasn't particulalrly "nice" to James Haydon was he, when he unceremoniously dumped him in favour of Lavilla 5 years ago and Lavilla wasn't very vocal about not replacing Haydon in the Airwaves team either

It's the politics of bike racing, someone is always waiting to take your ride.

Ha Ha, Paul Bird was bemoaning the fact that he bought hondas  when he should have bought Ducatis the other week.

Although we appreciate Bird contribution to racing by putting his own money into it (and fucks knows he likes telling everyone about it) he does moan like a fooking drain.

Either keep the faith or fook off to rallying you fart.
