WSB: All change for next year's championship

It's already kicking off in World Superbikes for 2009

VISORDOWN TOLD you yesterday about the increasingly loud rumours about Ruben Xaus riding the BMW superbike in next year’s WSB championship, well overnight the rumour-mill for the big diesels has gone into meltdown.

According to the Spaniards (who really should know where their man Xaus is really going next year) they have Xaus on the Beemer, but they are teaming him up with Troy Corser (who incidentally was seen firing a BMW M5 around the 'Ring recently).

Xaus fanned the flames with the Spanish press at the last round of the championship at the Nurburgring two weeks ago when he said: “All I can say about next year is that at last I will have an official factory motorcycle.”

Aprilia has apparently sorted out its entry into the series next year now with its V4 (which visordown were the first to show you along with the road version testing out on track), but the biggest surprise the Spaniards are claiming is that the British Honda concern is to leave the BSB series and make it’s switch to WSB.

The rumours mean that in total a staggering 34 riders will be on the grid in 2009 instead of the current 28.

Oh, and KTM have apparently been confirmed as entering the championship in 2011.
